Chelsea and Manchester United Championship loan stars, Aston Villa ace and Man City forward could be the stars of 2022

Mohamed Salah and Bernardo Silva are the hottest stars in the Premier League right now – but who could star 2022?
Every season, it seems like a new superstar is coming to the fore and becoming a household name.
In recent years, we’ve seen Declan Rice and Mason Mount burst onto the scene.
Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood are two other young gunslingers who have had huge seasons and continue to prove their quality.
Meanwhile, every now and then a slightly older player like Kalvin Phillips or Edouard Mendy shows the world he’s ready to mix it up with the best.
But for whom does talkSPORT.com predict a great 2022? Find out below …
Levi Colwill (Chelsea)
The teenager is currently thriving on loan at Huddersfield and his performances suggest he could ‘make a Reece James’ and seamlessly adjust to the Premier League.
The 18-year-old has been one of the league’s best players this season and it is understood that Thomas Tuchel will watch him in the preseason ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, but he could be called up in January if the injury crisis of Chelsea is getting worse.
The Blues, as it stands, will see four key defenders depart next summer with Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen and captain Cesar Azpilicueta all becoming free agents in the summer of 2022.
Colwill certainly has a good opportunity to prove his worth at Cobham next summer.
Michael Olise (Crystal Palace)
He arrived at Selhurst Park from Reading this summer for a fee of around £ 8million and following his return from injury the 20-year-old is wowing fans.
Olise played a vital role in their surprise victory at Manchester City, helping the decisive second goal, which comes as no surprise to those in the league who saw him comfortable with the ball and passed the players with ease.
He was the EFL Young Player of the Season before his move to Palace after assisting 12 and scoring seven goals from his role as an attacking midfielder for Reading and is gradually stepping up.
He could soon have a consistent starting place under fellow Frenchman Patrick Vieira and will show why he was once on the books at Chelsea.
James Garner (Manchester United)
The midfielder hasn’t really had a chance at Old Trafford yet, but if he continues to play on loan, manager Ralf Rangnick and next United boss may have to sit down and take note.
Garner lit up the championship with Nottingham Forest and is learning under the guidance of perfect manager Steve Cooper.
The 20-year-old has established himself as a regular start and the more he plays the better he looks.
The midfielder has been a problem for Manchester United and they could be looking for a big signing this summer.
They can have a ready-made player at Garner, if he can move from the Championship loan star to the Premier League.
Mount is proof that the trajectory to a world-class player can go through the Championship after playing for Derby before returning to Chelsea
Jacob Ramsey (Aston Villa)
The academy product is set to have a huge 2022 given the form it has shown since Steven Gerrard was appointed manager.
Having the legendary midfielder as his coach, Ramsey will look to replicate the performances Gerrard has produced during his illustrious career.
A glimpse of Ramsey’s potential was exposed recently against Norwich City.
He received the ball in central midfielder and pierced through the hearts of the opposition before unleashing a sensational left-footed strike into the upper left corner of the goal.
The 20-year-old even scored a brilliant goal in the club’s 3-1 loss to Aston Villa earlier in the season and heading into the World Cup, Ramsey’s form in 2022 could see him in the flight to Qatar with England boss Gareth Southgate.
Harvey Elliott (Liverpool)
Elliott looked set to make 2021 his breakthrough year after starting three of Liverpool’s first four games of the season following a successful loan spell at Blackburn last season.
He has seven goals and 11 assists in 41 appearances at Ewood Park, the record for most assists by a teenager in a single championship season.
And his form was such that the 18-year-old was propelled into Liverpool’s starting XI in a new role as a midfielder, surpassing a host of established names.
Elliott’s progress was sorely hampered by a horrific ankle injury suffered against Leeds in September, but the England starlet is already set for a comeback early next year to ensure he reaches the next level in 2022.
Cole Palmer (Man City)
Champions League and League Cup goals got Palmer up and running for the Citizens and there’s more to come.
He is already looking for the role and sooner or later he will have his chance in the Premier League as well.
Palmer, 19, also plays for England’s Under-21s and Pep Guardiola says he has a “special quality” inside the box.
We will trust the Spanish boss and think that he will make a name for himself in 2022.
Kepa Arrizabalaga (Chelsea)
Here we are outside.
Now we all know that Kepa isn’t exactly a prodigy waiting to burst onto the stages. Quite the reverse, in fact.
At 27, his reputation is still shattered after a few error-prone years in Chelsea’s goal which ultimately cost him his place in Edouard Mendy.
Rather than goalie heroics, his Blues career is best known for his refusal to be substituted in the 2019 Carabao Cup final.
But as the most expensive goalkeeper in history, there is talent there. And 2022 could be his chance to shine.
Chelsea will need Kepa in January, while Mendy will travel to Cameroon to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.
Despite all his glow, Mendy has looked a bit nervous lately, while Kepa has impressed whenever he is called out.
Who knows? A few good performances turn Thomas Tuchel’s head well.
