Cauet files complaint after accusations of sending sexual messages to a minor

Questioned by a young woman, who publishes messages – not authenticated – of a sexual nature on social networks, the host Sébastien Cauet claims this Friday to have filed a complaint for moral harassment and defamation.
Sébastien Cauet says he is “deeply shocked”. Targeted by several accusations of sexual harassment on social networks, he announced this Friday, November 17 that he had filed a complaint. France Info specifies that he filed a complaint on Wednesday at the Boulogne-Billancourt police station “for moral harassment committed through the use of an online public communication service” and for “defamation”.
Since October, very explicit messages of a sexual nature, attributed to the host, have been circulating on X (formerly Twitter). A young woman thus published what she claims was an exchange between Sébastien Cauet and her, when she was still a minor. Another assures that Cauet would have made the same type of remarks to her on WhatsApp.
A third indicates, still on X, that she also “tried to talk about it a year ago”. All these testimonies were highlighted and relayed by a pseudonymous account, used to relaying rumors and followed by more than 140,000 subscribers on Twitter.
“Let the truth come out”
“These allegations are completely false, fabricated and defamatory,” assures Sébastien Cauet on Twitter. “I immediately filed a complaint. I have complete confidence in the police to tell the truth of the facts. I will take all necessary measures to ensure that the truth comes out.”
According to France Info, an investigation was entrusted to the brigade for the repression of delinquency against the person, after the presenter’s complaint.
The star host of Fun Radio and NRJ also enjoyed great success with his show The Cauet method on TF1 in the early 2000s. In 2017, the CSA sentenced NRJ to a fine of one million euros, after a sequence of its show C Cauet.
He had previously been put on notice for “serious breaches of the provisions relating to respect for the image of women and the protection of children and adolescents”, in the same program.
