Cara Delevingne is said to be ‘sitting alone and crying’ over the death of her grandmother during the filming of ‘Planet Sex’

Cara Delevingne opened up about her newfound sobriety, retracing the rise and fall of her addictions and the struggles she had to overcome in the public eye. She spoke in particular about the loss of her grandmother during the filming of her docuseries planet sex.

Last year, rumors about Delevingne’s drug addiction problem erupted after she was photographed behaving erratically at an airport. The model and actor remained silent about his struggles until he came clean with voguereleased Wednesday (March 8).

She said the viral footage had brought her “overwhelming shame and embarrassment” and also served as an “urgent wake-up call” to deal with her mental health. Throughout the interview, she painted a picture of the difficulties she faced throughout her personal life and career, including the recent loss of her grandmother.

Delevingne said her grandmother, Jane Sheffield – former lady-in-waiting to Princess Margaret – died while she was in Tokyo filming her Hulu docuseries.

The actor reflected on their close relationship, telling vogue, “I would stay with her in her house in the countryside. She took care of me a lot when my parents weren’t able to. Delevingne recalled throwing herself into work after Sheffield’s death, saying, “Every night I would come back from filming and sit alone and cry.”

She then described being “fuckin’ exhausted” when she made an appearance at the Met Ball two weeks later. The actor said she had a “blackout” at after parties despite having to attend “her grandmother’s funeral” the following day. Now Delevingne is focusing on recovery and personal work. The actor participated in a rehab and 12-step recovery program, in addition to holistic therapy and practices.

In the interview, Delevingne also opened up about filming the six-part intimate series, which she described as “super personal.”

The actor said, “I had only really learned to show emotions when I was acting because I didn’t feel worthy enough to feel those things like myself. With planet sexI was so uncomfortable in front of the camera at first because it was like, Oh, my God, I have to be myself.
