A Southern California man called for help when he found a seven-foot snake in his couch.

“This guy calls me, he’s pretty frantic and he says, ‘There’s a snake on my couch,'” Alex Trejo, owner of So-Cal Rattlesnake Removal, told KGTV.

The video shared on Facebook shows the length of the reptile. However, Trejo said that wasn’t the most surprising part of the discovery.

“I literally lift the cushion and there’s this giant 7 foot Vietnamese blue beauty snake just coiled up right behind the cushion. You’d be more likely to find a Rolex sitting on the floor than a snake like this,” said he declared. .

Size is not uncommon for the type of snake, which can grow up to eight feet. Trejo says they’re not poisonous, but it’s illegal to keep them as pets.

The owner told Trejo that the snake was not his, so where it came from remains a mystery. Trejo thinks he escaped from his owner.

Vietnamese blue beauty ratsnakes thrive in tropical climates. Trejo says being outside of a controlled climate for a few days took its toll and he is now suffering from a respiratory infection.

The owner of the snake did not come forward. Trejo plans to adopt her if no one ever does, USA Today reports.
