Braga also upset the odds in this competition after knocking out Monaco in the previous round.

This quarter-final first leg of the Europa League will take place on Thursday, April 7.

Kick-off at the Municipal Stadium is scheduled for 8 p.m. and will be broadcast live on talkSPORT 2.

Braga v Rangers: Team news

The hosts will be without Alfredo Morelos again after sustaining a thigh injury while on international duty.

Ianis Hagi remains Rangers only long-term absentee as the Scottish giants otherwise have a healthy state to contend with.

Braga, meanwhile, could be tempted to start Vitor Oliveira after coming off the bench to score the winner in Friday’s 3-2 win over Benfica.

Braga v Rangers: what was said?

“It’s a strong team,” said Van Bronckhorst. “It’s always difficult to play against Portuguese teams.

“They were in the same group as Red Star, so we have already seen the two games played by Red Star against them and we will also prepare well for this tie and work hard to advance to the next round.

“It’s special for all of us to be involved in Europe. Home games at Ibrox are always special and traveling to Europe with all the support we have from the fans just gives you a good feeling. The support we have is always fantastic.

“Playing against Braga with maybe six or seven thousand fans traveling with us is always good. We always have good chemistry with them.
