Allan Ali and his partner, Kamia Hoilett, had a negative interaction with a flight attendant on Sunday on a plane to Philly.

A black family traveling with a newborn baby was kicked off an American Airlines flight on Sunday as they returned home to Philadelphia from Charlotte, North Carolina. They are considering taking legal action.

As seen in a now viral video, Allan Ali and his partner, Kamia Hoilett, were asked to leave a flight on the Sunday afternoon before departure after a brief negative interaction with a Caucasian passenger and a Caucasian flight attendant.

The shadow room questioned Ali, who said the incident escalated when he and his partner holding the baby stood up to let a man in their row sit. Ali said the man spoke aggressively to them, saying, “You all have to get up.”

According to Ali, the couple tried to exit the row to let the man in, but the flight attendant was blocking the path. He said Hoilett asked him for space, but the airline employee replied, “Is this going to be a problem?”

The situation then escalated when the same flight attendant told Hoilett to sit down and buckle his seat belt in what they described as “a passive-aggressive tone”.

Hoilett told the flight attendant she didn’t like the way she was being spoken to, and the employee then “rushed” to report the incident to the captain, who asked flight attendants to remove the family from theft.

In the now viral video posted to Instagram, Hoilett can be heard repeatedly saying, “I didn’t do anything.” Her partner then recaps the incident, saying they were asked to leave the flight with their child.

The couple left the 1 p.m. flight and were finally able to leave Charlotte at 8:20 p.m.

Ali and Hoilett feel that despite being put on another flight, they were treated unfairly. Ali said The shadow room that he has spoken to a lawyer and is considering filing a formal complaint.

Another couple recently took legal action against American Airlines because they were kicked off a flight in August after refusing to place a bag containing a sacred prayer shawl on the ground.

Roberto and Elana Burmese, a Jewish couple married for 52 years, carried a Talit bag – an 8.5-inch by 8.5-inch clear plastic holder – for Mr. Birman’s prayer book and shawl, which was placed in the bin superior. According to reports from The New York Post, an employee of their flight from Miami threw the bag over his lap and told him he had to go under the seat.

When the Burmese told the officer that the religious object could not go on the ground, the flight attendant reportedly replied, “It doesn’t matter.” He and his wife refused, Ms. Birman calling the request, which is like asking a Christian to “throw a cross on the ground” where it could be stepped on.

Through To post reporting: “The pilot came but did not speak to them,” the Burmese said. Eventually, a member of the ground crew was called in and urged them to follow him out of the plane, they said. The Burmese recently filed a lawsuit against the airline.

“My clients were kicked off the flight based on the prejudice and utter insensitivity of American Airlines employees for reasons totally unrelated to security,” their attorney said, Brad Gerstman. “The conduct of the flight attendant and pilot was as offensive as it was illogical.”

American Airlines is said to be reviewing the Burmese costume and has yet to release a response to the incident involving Ali and Hoilett.
