Billionaire GOP donor Ken Griffin won’t support Trump in 2024: ‘It’s time to move on’

Hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin, a top Republican donor, said he would not open his wallet for a possible Donald Trump campaign in 2024.
“He did a lot of things very well and missed the mark in some important areas,” Griffin told Politico. “And for a litany of reasons, I think it’s time to move on to the next generation.”
As DeSantis’ profile has risen and talk of a 2024 bid, Trump’s anger has grown. The former president called him “Ron DeSanctimonious” at a rally on Saturday, but offered a reluctant endorsement on Sunday after conservative voices called him out during the dig.
“The four years under President Trump have been so unnecessarily divisive that they have not been constructive for our country,” he told Bloomberg.
OpenSecrets says Griffin has raised $67 million, all for conservatives, in the 2022 federal election cycle. He is behind only progressive benefactor George Soros ($126 million) and right-wing donor Richard Uihlein (77 millions of dollars).
