Biden Chinese Balloon Response ‘Too Little, Too Late’ – ‘The President Has Failed’

Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH) told ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday that President Joe Biden’s response to the China ball incident was “too little too late.”

Partial transcript as follows:

KARL: Governor Sununu, thank you for joining us. Before I get to politics, I have to ask you about the–the great story of the weekend, last week, the Chinese spy balloon. Did the president make the right decision to shoot him down?

SUNUNU: Too little, too late. Look, at the end of the day, they saw this ball coming. It’s about China biting us. This is about China testing American resolve, whether it’s with TikTok or the ball or whatever next month. They know the tensions are mounting and they want to see what kind of leadership we have. And, no, the president failed on this one, should have been a lot more transparent, should have acted a lot sooner and done it. But, believe me, this is not the last time we will see China. I know the chair wants that, but that’s not the case.

KARL But… but the military advice he had was to wait until he was above water. Do you think he should have ignored military advice?

SUNUNU: There were clearly opportunities to deal with — to deal with the ball before it finally went over the Atlantic. They–there was reports that they seen it coming from the Pacific, coming over the forest, coming over the Aleutian Islands. So there was a lot of opportunity to deal with it before it ended in Montana and they realized, oh, oh, we have a problem. So again you have to have leadership. You must be transparent. You must act quickly. They weren’t. They weren’t at all.
