Beyoncé’s Grammy Post sparks a conspiracy theory

Beyoncé sparked a Grammy conspiracy theory online when she shared a celebratory message for this year’s awards.
The legendary singer was nominated for nine gongs and won four awards at the 2023 Grammy Awards: Best Dance/Electronic Recording, Best Dance/Electronic Album, Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B Song. She won the most awards at this year’s ceremony, tied with group Maverick City Music.
Beyoncé’s awards made her the most successful artist in Grammy Awards history, with 32 wins in total.

Suspicion was aroused in some people online when Beyoncé shared an Instagram post posing with Grammys and writing a thank you to her fans. Twitter users discussed the post, saying it looked like she knew in advance because the photo was ‘taken and redacted’, while others suggested she had also waived before announcing her name as the winner.
On Sunday night, as the 2023 Gammy Awards ceremony was in full swing, Beyoncé wrote a social media post celebrating winning just three awards.
“We won 3 y’all,” the Instagram post read. “To my hive, thank you so much for all your love and loyalty! A big thank you for the BREAK MY SOUL and CUFF IT wins!!! To The Dream, Tricky, HOV and Big Freedia. Love you all!”
Beyoncé went on to thank her team members and continued, “It’s great to be honored for the vocal performance. Thank you to all the talented singers who killed these beautiful TikTok renditions! I’m so grateful and filled with joy. !”
The attached photo showed Beyoncé posing with two Grammy Awards in her hand and another placed at her feet. It was released during the ceremony and before she won her fourth award.
“So she’s not winning anymore…” a Twitter user commented after it was shared on social media. “So she’s leaving!?!?” asked another.
Others (rightly) assumed the position meant she wasn’t going to win the coveted album of the year award.
Sharing their suspicions, Twitter user @felipemnzp wrote, “So they all know in advance why this photo was taken and redacted.”
Weighing in, advertising executive Michael J. Miraflor added, “I feel like she got up before they called her.”
“I knew Beyoncé wasn’t winning when she posted her Instagram post about her 3 wins long before the show ended,” @DrunkOffPain wrote on Twitter.
Album of the Year was won by Harry Styles’ Harry’s housewho beat Beyoncé Renaissance. He also beat Adele, Lizzo, ABBA, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Coldplay, Brandi Carlile and Kendrick Lamar.
