Atlanta man Michael Anthony Dixon allegedly tried to smuggle drugs, phones and chicken wings into jail


An Atlanta, Georgia man has been arrested for allegedly using a shattered window at Dekalb County Jail to deliver items like narcotics, tobacco, cell phones, chicken wings and more, according to informations.

Fox station WAGA in Atlanta reported that investigators charged Michael Anthony Dixon with crossing a guard line with weapons, intoxicants, drugs without consent, criminal trespassing, possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Dixon, who the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said was carrying a box cutter, was arrested outside the facility on Feb. 3 as he walked past the guard line area.

When deputies searched the area, they found a whiteback hiding in a brush nearby.

Deputies said the bag contained cocaine, cigarette packs, lighters, marijuana, earbuds, hex keys, glue gel, candy, jewelry, charging cords and wings of cooked chicken.

“Our ‘Eyes in the Sky’ operation continues to be effective this year, as we thwart attempts by inmates and their co-conspirators on the outside to bring illegal and potentially dangerous items inside the prison,” Deputy Chief Randy Akies said, according to WAGA. “The safety of intended recipients and other persons in our custody and staff is at risk from this practice, and Sheriff Maddox has made it clear that it will not be tolerated. Violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent permitted by law. »
