Mikel Arteta has been left behind by his Arsenal side’s lack of depth as they missed out on a Champions League spot last season, but that could very soon be a problem of the past.
The Gunners boss was heavily backed last summer with a £150million investment, and it looks like there will be a repeat this year with targets identified and moves made.
If the latest reports are to be believed, the Spaniard could have six options for his three forward spots, and the option to play an all-English and an all-Brazilian trident.
Following their promise last season, Eddie Nketiah can once again be flanked by Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, with the Young Lions providing a tantalizing glimpse into the future.
A possible Brazilian trio could bring even more thrills, however, with youngster Gabriel Martinelli increasingly likely to be joined by two regulars from his national side.
The Gunners are reportedly closing in on long-term target Gabriel Jesus, and if that news isn’t exciting enough for the Emirates faithful, he could also be joined by exciting Leeds winger Raphinha.
Both signings now look like a distinct possibility for Arsenal, with The Athletic reporting that an offer has been sent to Leeds exceeding what cash-strapped Barcelona can provide.
A fee similar to the reported £50million will be handed to City for Jesus, who have long been linked with north London with their Manchester contract expiring next summer.

The duo would go to great lengths to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, whose departures this year have left a void up front.
That gap has already been bridged to some extent with Nketiah, who recently signed a new contract with the club – and handed the No.14 shirt – after an impressive run in the team towards the end of the season.
All-time top scorer at England Under-21 level, Nketiah is a throwback for an Arsenal side that relied heavily on English talent, and that theme runs through the line-up.
Along with Saka and Smith Rowe, centre-back Ben White has become a mainstay at the back, as has Aaron Ramsdale in goal.
Much like the days of David Seaman, Tony Adams and Ray Parlor, the Gunners would return to their roots with an English backbone, and Arsenal fan and host of talkSPORT Laura Woods, optimist.
Speaking on the transfer news, she said: “It would be exceptional, Raphinha, Jesus and [Leicester midfielder and another summer target for Arsenal] Youri Tielemans – if you get all three, it’s amazing.
“I think Jesus is the number one target now, I would like all three, I would like one of them, I think they desperately need a striker and all that talent and all the creative players around them.
“Tielemans is such an exceptional player, as an Arsenal fan, I would love Tielemans to come to Arsenal, I think he is one of the best players in Leicester, so it would be a blow to Leicester.
“Jesus, I think he’s looking for first-team football, so it would be great if he came to us. I’ve seen people suggesting he might not be able to play week in week out, but he would be fine.
“Raphinha has also been so solid for Leeds when fit and ready so if they could get those three signings they would do so well.
“They were the biggest spenders last summer in the Premier League, I think they are heading in that direction this summer as well.
“I think if they actually signed these players a lot of the fan base would be back with Arsenal after what has been a pretty dreadful window in the winter, taking a lot of people out but not necessarily bringing anyone in. one, so I think that would gain a lot more fanbase.
“If you get those three players on top of what you already have, you should also be seen as potentially pushing for the top four.”
