Arsenal have been the Premier League’s biggest spender in recent years, and Mikel Arteta hinted at new signings saying: “It’s not going to stop.”
The Gunners have already been prolific in the transfer market this summer after signing five players for the first team.
They include big deals for Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Man City, Fabio Vieira from Porto, Matt Turner from New England Revolution and Marquinhos from Sao Paulo.
Arsenal’s spending this summer isn’t out of the ordinary – Arteta’s side spent big money last term with deals for Ben White, Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale.
In fact, the Gunners are the biggest spending club in the Premier League over the last three transfer windows, having spent £278.3million since the start of summer 2021.
That’s more than Man City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool who have spent significantly less during this period.
The Gunners missed out on a top four spot last season and will be desperate to secure Champions League football this time around, with new signings set to play a big part in their quest.
And Arteta hinted that their case is far from over.
