Anthony Joshua vs Jermaine Franklin date: UK start time, undercard, live stream and how to watch

Anthony Joshua is expected to return to the ring this spring for the first time since losing back to back fights to Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua is set to face American heavyweight Jermaine Franklin in April as he seeks his first victory since 2020.

‘AJ’ has lost three of his last five fights, but with terms agreed for his next opponent, he hopes to get back to his best and repair his reputation.

Franklin is coming off a controversial loss to Dillian Whyte, with the American claiming he was ‘robbed’ by the judges.

This fight was his first in the UK and for his second fight in English he is now set to face former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has sent a warning to AJ doubters ahead of his proposed return to the ring.

Hearn said: “I want to say one thing – get ready for Anthony Joshua to come back.

“He’s coming off of a good fight with Usyk and another where he was outplayed, he fought number one pound for pound back to back.

“The disrespect on this man’s name is unbelievable. And I don’t care at the end of the day.

“But what I’m telling you, people who want to belittle his achievements, people who want to say he’s finished in the sport – get ready for Anthony Joshua’s return on April 1.

“Because this guy is in Texas, he works and works every day. This guy’s got money in the bank, he’s got world championship belts on the wall, he doesn’t care about either.

“He cares about the sport of boxing, he cares about winning back his world heavyweight title and I tell you he’s coming back with a vengeance.

“Anyone who wants to doubt Anthony Joshua, this guy is a handsome young man who is about to re-assault the world heavyweight title.

“And I can’t wait. I’m so excited. I’m more excited than when this journey started. Write it off at your own risk.
