Anthony Joshua turned Dillian Whyte’s legs to jelly before knocking him out with a thunderous uppercut

The fierce rivalry between Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte in 2015 came to an end when they met in the ring.

The pair first met as amateurs and Whyte emerged victorious, but they faced off again as undefeated professionals in a battle for the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles.

Whyte and Joshua had a bitter rivalry that still lives on to this day

At the end of the first round, punches were landed after the bell and it almost led to a mass brawl as members of both men’s teams rushed into the ring.

After the referee calmed things down, the fight continued and Joshua even got hurt in the second round, but he recovered well.

By the seventh round, Joshua had taken control of the fight and he landed a heavy straight right hand that saw Whyte’s legs turn to jelly, as AJ leapt up.

Somehow, Whyte stayed on his feet, but it didn’t last long, as Joshua followed him around the ring, eventually landing a thunderous uppercut that knocked out “The Bodysnatcher” and left him lying against the ropes.

And Whyte couldn’t get up

Joshua became a two-time unified world heavyweight champion, while Whyte failed in his only world title attempt, getting knocked out by Tyson Fury.

More recently there have been talks of a potential rematch between the pair, with Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn naming Whyte as the favorite to fight Joshua this summer.

Hearn revealed that Joshua is currently in camp and they are planning for him to return to the ring in early August.

But that all hinges on whether he can fight Deontay Wilder for December later this year in Saudi Arabia.
