Now is the time to reflect on the year behind us and look forward to 2023. Here’s how celebrities rang in the new year.

Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper address CNN’s no-alcohol rule

Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper provided non-alcoholic comic relief on CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live” special.

“They brought us back for another year,” Cohen boasted topping CNN coverage from Times Square in New York, adding that there were “a few stipulations this year, some fine print.”

Ahead of New Year’s Eve celebrations, new CNN CEO Chris Licht reportedly called for coverage with less alcohol. On Thursday, Cohen confirmed to Page Six that he and Cooper won’t be drinking during this year’s show.

“So we should be talking about the elephant in the room,” Cohen joked on Saturday. in a clip shared on social media from the CNN show. “We can’t drink, okay! We can’t drink. But it’s okay. It’s totally cool.”

“I don’t normally drink, so it’s okay for me,” Cooper added, before asking Cohen if he was “going to be able to make it through the night.”

“That’s the question. We’ll see,” Cohen replied. “Do I have a pocket full of edibles? I do. Will I take them? I don’t think so. I don’t know, it’s a long night. It’s a disease-free telethon, Do you understand? We’ve been here all night passing the time.”

To support the alcohol ban, Cohen and Cooper took hits with mystery liquids, ranging from pickle juice, buttermilk and apple cider vinegar.

“We’ll take a picture and then we’ll guess what it was,” Cohen said, explaining the rules of the toast game.

“Honestly, it’s no different for me because alcohol, to me, tastes disgusting,” Cooper added.

After the show, Cohen and Anderson took to Instagram to reflect on the night.

“Alcohol or no alcohol is what matters when you spend it with friends!” Cohen wrote alongside a clip of the duo singing and celebrating.

In a more serious post by Cooper, he recalled how New Year’s Eve as a child was “soaked in sadness” after his father died five days in January.

“I still feel this sadness, this loss tonight, but to be able to spend it with my friend Andy, and with all of you who tune in, and then come home to a house where my two boys are sleeping in their cribs and will wake up the morning laughing and joyful…it became a very different night for me…and I’m grateful for that,” he wrote.

While hosting her second annual “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” alongside Dolly Parton, Cyrus revealed that she will be releasing a new single, titled “Flowers,” on January 13.

The singer then took to Twitter to share the newswrites: “NEW YEAR, NEW MILEY, NEW SINGLE.”

Cyrus, 30, and her godmother Parton, 76, performed several stunning duets at their New Year’s Eve show. Just before the clock struck midnight, the two sang a medley of Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” followed by Parton’s “I Will Always Love You”.

Cher, 76, rang in 2023 with 36-year-old Alexander “AE” Edwards by her side. “Happy New Year dad,” she wrote on Twitter next to a photo of the two.

In the snapshot, the singer shows off the ring Edwards gave her for Christmas, leading the internet to wonder if the two were engaged. They have yet to confirm the wedding news.

Cher followed up her New Year’s post with another, apparently addressing criticism of the couple’s age difference.

“This should send you haters to The Part in Wizzard of OZ… WHEN DOROTHY THROUGH WATER ON THE WICKED WITCH and melted her,” she wrote along with another photo of herself closing her eyes and holding her hand of Edwards.

On New Year’s Eve, Baldwin shared a photo from an ultrasound and captioned it, “Happy New Year.” Baldwin confirmed the news with a photo of a pregnancy test she shared on her Instagram Story – and responded to fans who said the ultrasound looked like a dog. “It’s not a dog lol,” she wrote.

Baldwin shared the news on Instagram with his partner, RAC musician, born André Allen Anjos. He also shared the message and posted a photo of himself in a doctor’s office with the “first ultrasound a few months ago.”
