Alsace: Karim Mohamed-Aggad, the brother of the Bataclan terrorist, stripped of his French nationality

Karim Mohamed-Aggad is no longer French. The brother of Foued Mohamed-Aggad, one of the Bataclan terrorists, is targeted by a decree of November 15 signed by the Prime Minister and published in the official journal this Friday. Karim Mohamed Aggad is officially there stripped of his French nationality. This 33 year old man today, who was born and raised in Wissembourg in the north of Bas-Rhin had been heavily condemned by the courts in another case of terrorism.

It was in 2016. Karim Mohamed-Aggad receives then 9 years in prison for joining ISIS. A stay in the Iraqi-Syrian zone located by the courts between December 2013 and April 2014. At the time Karim left with his little brother, Foued Mohamed-Aggad, who later became one of the suicide bombers of the Bataclan, November 13, 2015.

On his return to Alsace, Karim Mohamed-Aggad was arrested and sentenced. Before being released in the summer of 2022… Three months later he is behind bars again. There justice then condemns him to 6 months in prison for having violated his obligation not to leave Wissembourg as part of an individual control measure.

Today, his loss of nationality could lead to his expulsion. Because Karim Mohamed-Aggad was born to an Algerian father and a Moroccan mother.
