Alliance Air said it took delivery of the first Indian-made Dornier 228 aircraft on Thursday to facilitate connectivity in northeastern states.
Alliance Air, managed by the center, had signed an agreement in February with the government company Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd for the rental of two 17-seater Dornier 228 planes.

The airline said on Twitter on Thursday: “Alliance Air takes delivery of its first Indian-made Dornier 228. The unpressurized 17-seat Dornier 228 with an air-conditioned cabin capable of operating day and night.”
The light transport aircraft will facilitate regional connectivity in the northeastern states, he added. To date, Dornier aircraft were used only by the armed forces.
