Jurgen Klopp revealed that Liverpool would be boosted by the return of No.1 goalkeeper Alisson Becker for their Premier League opener at Fulham.
The Reds boss has other injury problems at this squad, however, but has said he has no intention of entering the transfer market as a quick fix.
Liverpool have enjoyed a productive summer in terms of earnings with offers for Calvin Ramsey, Fabio Carvalho and successful newcomer Darwin Nunez all arriving at Anfield ahead of the new campaign.
Having finished their business early, the Reds hoped to avoid any late drama in the transfer market.
However, a number of first-team injuries have left Klopp’s side a bit thin ahead of Saturday’s Premier League opener against Fulham – a clash which will be live exclusively on talkSPORT.
Liverpool will welcome Alisson back from illness, but they will be without Curtis Jone, Kostas Tsimikas and Ibrahima Konate at Craven Cottage, while Diogo Jota and Caoimhin Kelleher are out long term as they undergo rehabilitation programs for injuries sustained at the summer course.
While Klopp says the Reds have been “unlucky” with injuries of late, he remains hopeful the club don’t need to pursue new signings in order to manage the number of absences.
While it seems he hasn’t completely ruled it out, he said it will mostly affect previously planned releases, rather than the arrival of new players.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Klopp said: “Ali is fine.
“We have too many injuries, it’s true, but for the moment nothing has changed [with their approach to the transfer market].
“There were a lot of unlucky situations; started with Caoimhin, started with Diogo roughly. One was injured, the other suffered a new injury, it was not 100% clear.
“There’s no criticism, because you’ve made a fuss of everything I say but that’s how it is – he’s with the national team, both were with their national teams. There’s a diagnosis, we get the diagnosis, we trust the diagnosis, it’s completely normal, but you are not in the complete process all the time The national team takes over in a few moments, we try to intervene as soon as possible.
“Diogo it was obviously a bit too early, or the injury was different in the first place. They are already fine and in a few weeks they will be back.
Klopp added: “Things like that are not cool, but we can’t solve a problem that we’ve had for four weeks with a transfer for a full year, it doesn’t, for now at least, make sense. for us.
“But the transfer window is still open and we will see. But the plans are not going in that direction.
