The AOC called several members of Congress on Twitter to ask if they had asked for forgiveness after Jan. 6.
His tweets came the day after the Jan. 6 House committee alleged that several members had done so.
“I’m just trying to clarify some things,” the New York congresswoman said.
In a flurry of tweets on Friday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez asked several of her fellow Reps if they had asked the White House for forgiveness after the Jan. 6 attack.
His remarks came the day after the Jan. 6 House Select Committee broadcast its first public hearing — at which GOP co-chair Rep. Liz Cheney alleged several members of Congress had asked for forgiveness after the insurrection.
His first tweet was directed at Rep. Matt Gaetz who took a swipe at Rep. Jamie Raskin for his involvement with the committee.
“Hey @mattgaetz while you reply to my tweets, can you reply to one more for me: have you ever apologized to trump? Let me know in the replies! You clearly know where the button is,” she replied.
Gaetz didn’t answer but Ocasio-Cortez continued to call Reps. Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene.
“Hey quick question Boebert, did you apologize after tweeting the president’s location on January 6th?” asked the deputy.
“Maybe your friend @RepMTG can answer! Have any of you apologized? I’m just trying to clear up some things,” she added.
“Okay Sandy, $5 a gallon of gas, over 3 million illegals crossing our southern border, no formula, higher inflation than in our two lifetimes, and that’s what you wanna talk?” Boebert replied.
The January 6 Committee’s public hearings will resume on Monday.
