Alex Soros meets with ‘great leader’ Newsom at the Clinton Global Initiative
Alex Soros, the heir to George Soros’ left-wing nonprofit empire, met with California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on Monday, praising the Democrat as a “great leader” at the start of the Clinton Global Initiative ( CGI) annually. ) meeting in New York.
Soros shared a photo of the two men standing in front of CGI posters.

The CGI “brings together global and emerging leaders to create and implement solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges,” according to its website.
Soros was announced as heir apparent to his father’s empire in June. Soros told the Wall Street Journal that, although he and his father “think alike,” he is “more political” than the elder Soros. Soros is interested in “voting rights and abortion, as well as gender equality” in the United States
It also focuses heavily on supporting the Ukrainian war effort, with European Council on Foreign Relations director Mark Leonard revealing that Soros is “in daily contact with the Soros Foundation in Ukraine, talking with different governments about their policies towards Ukraine.
Soros met with Newsom just days after visiting former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in her Capitol Hill office. Soros is no stranger to meetings with prominent Democratic leaders and advisers. Democrats he has met over the years include, but are not limited to, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), l former President Barack Obama and Vice President Kamala Harris, as detailed by Breitbart News.
Soros has also held 20 meetings with top White House advisers to President Joe Biden since October 2021, according to visitor logs.
Soros will likely meet with other CGI participants. World Bank President Ajay Banga and Bahamas Prime Minister Philip E. Davis are among the international leaders who will attend the event. Hollywood stars like Jose Andres, Orlando Bloom and Matt Damon will also be in attendance, as detailed by Breitbart News.
Other American politicians present at the CGI include Democratic governors. Maura Healey (MA), Wes Moore (MD), JB Pritzker (IL) and Kathy Hochul from New York.
