All destinations are affected by this record attendance at Gîtes de France. “The most popular destinations are those near major population centers”, specifies Solange Escure. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, however, she has noticed a change in the behavior of the French with “a very strong anticipation of reservations which began in the fall.”

As for the rest of the season, “the summer season is looking very good, in July and August”details Solange Escure. “We have nearly 60% of our accommodations reserved”according to her. “There is still room for this summer everywhere”, however, assures the director general of the National Federation of Gîtes de France, who specifies that the most popular regions are Brittany, Normandy, the South-West or the PACA region.

Thanks to this unprecedented success, the losses linked to Covid-19 have been made up for, says Solange Escure. The 2021 season has been “exceptional” with “a very strong increase in business volume”. Compared to 2019, it sees a 30% increase in 2021 “and 2022 promises to be at the same level”.
