A total of 235 candidates were selected based on their performance in the written exam and interviews. These candidates are now eligible for admission to the 156th Course (DE) of the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala; and Air Force Academy Hyderabad Training Course (Pre-Flight), particularly Course No. 215 F(P).

Among them, 156 candidates were shortlisted for the Indian Military Academy, while 57 and 22 candidates were selected for the Indian Naval Academy and the Air Force Academy, respectively.

It is important to note that the results of the medical examination were not taken into account in the merit lists, according to the official statement. The process of verifying the date of birth and educational qualifications of the candidates is still underway at the Army Headquarters. The final selection of candidates depends on the completion of this verification process and the candidacy of these candidates therefore remains provisional.

Following the declaration of the final result of the Officer Training Academy (OTA) for the CDS 1 exam 2023, the marks of the candidates will be available on the official website. To confirm their date of birth and educational qualifications, candidates are required to submit their original certificates, along with certified photocopies, to the Army Headquarters, Naval Headquarters or Air Headquarters, depending of their first choice.
