20-member group of empowered secretaries established by the government to implement PM Gatishakti’s master plan | Today Headlines

The government has formed a Group of Empowered Secretaries (EGoS), headed by the Cabinet Secretary and made up of the heads of 19 ministries or departments, which will be a follow-up mechanism for the development and implementation of the National Master Plan (NMP) PM GatiShakti .

“The EGoS will also analyze the interventions necessary to satisfy the demand, in the efficient transport of bulk products according to the requirements of various ministries such as Steel, Coal, Fertilizers, etc.”, says the order issued by the Ministry of Commerce on 30 October.

EGoS will also align various initiatives in the development of a common integrated portal serving the needs of all stakeholders.

“The EGoS will review and monitor the implementation of the PM Gatishakti NMP Plan to determine the logistical efficiency accrued from it, adopt the framework and standards to undertake any modification in the Plan and coordinate any changes in the projects already included in the Plan, within the prescribed framework and standards. EGoS will issue appropriate instructions to achieve the objectives and for compliance with the guiding principles of PM GatiShakti NMP and to address the demand-side requirements of the Ministries involved, ”the detailed order reads.
