115 gallons of liquid meth, crystal meth and firearms seized worth $2.5 million


DALLAS, Ga. (CBS46) – A 43-year-old Dallas man was arrested and charged with trafficking meth after officers seized 115 gallons of liquid meth and nearly 9 pounds of crystal meth, which police say responsible, have a potential market value of over $2.5 million

Officials say the DEA, the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force issued a search warrant at the home of 89 Paces Lakes Point on July 5.

Wilber Leonel Romero-Zelaya was arrested and transported to Paulding County Jail for Possession and Trafficking.

“It is only through interagency cooperation that operations like this can take place. We are grateful to our state and federal partners and happy that they are helping us put drug traffickers like this in jail,” Paulding County Sheriff Gary Gulledge said.

Officers also seized six rifles, a pistol, three vehicles and $2,500 in cash.

Officials added that the Hazardous Waste Disposal Team responded to the scene to remove and safely dispose of hazardous materials and hazardous and flammable liquids that were used.

No other people have been charged in the ongoing investigation.

“Residents of our communities are the eyes and ears of law enforcement, we want to urge citizens that if you see or smell anything that does not seem normal, please call law enforcement to ‘An investigation be initiated,’ said the Georgia Bureau of Investigative Assistant Special Agent and Comm. of the HPDTF Steve Sweatt.

Zelaya is currently being held without bond.
