10 Republican-led states pursue Biden vaccine mandate

Ten Republican-led states filed a lawsuit in Missouri federal court on Friday accusing the Biden administration of a wide range of excessive reach by requiring employees of federal contractors to be vaccinated against the coronavirus by December 8 .
The lawsuit, filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, was led by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt and Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson. The other eight states are Alaska, Arkansas, Iowa, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
The White House has previously defended President Biden’s vaccination mandates as “clearly legal and necessary to help save lives and stop the spread of Covid-19.”
Republican leaders in many states have categorically opposed any measure requiring vaccines or masks, saying they violate individual freedoms. Some have banned such warrants and court challenges have been pending in the courts for months.
